"If Holding Absence is stopping by your town, I'd highly recommend picking up some tickets! The setting was intimate and Pat, the lead singer, really took advantage of this by involving the audience (calling up people to sing with him at various points) and singing the intro and first chorus to "When I Look to the Sky" without a microphone. We have both been avid Holding Absence fans for some time now, and when we heard they were back together and touring, we knew we needed tickets.
Even though his voice cracked occasionally because of a recent illness, you could feel the energy flowing from Pat and the rest of the band. This is one group that truly loves making music and I for one appreciate that. I went with my mom for her birthday, and it was a very enjoyable evening. I wouldn't have minded one or two more of their newer songs, but seeing as most of their songs are fabulous, I wasn't really disappointed.
